2022 Service & Art Camp

June 18 – June 24, 2022

Rising 5th , 6th, 7th , 8th, or 9th  (ages 10 – 14)

Quaker Service and Art Camp offers young people a taste of life in the remarkable redwoods of the Santa Cruz  mountains. Campers will join camp staff as well as adult Friends for a week of experiencing Quaker community in nature. This year, we will experience what Spirit teaches us through the natural world about diversity, resilience, stewardship and the power of community.

Come spend a week with old friends, make new friends and have a great time at Quaker Center!

Campers will enjoy hiking, helping to refurbish trails & campsites, swimming, and a variety of fun community  building activities that are Quaker Camp traditions (e.g. an afternoon at the beach) as well as developing new traditions.  Specific Art and Service opportunities will be shared in March on the Quaker Center Website. Daily activities will include the following:

  • Art making (music, visual art, multi-media art, and others)
  • Service to Quaker Center and the local community
  • Experience Quaker practices and deepen your understanding of our values
  • Learn the deep connection between stewardship of the land and stewardship of the Spirit.

SIGN UP NOW! Space is limited; participation will be on a first come, first served basis.

COST: Sliding Scale; use of Monthly Meeting passes encouraged; scholarships through PacYM available!  No one will be refused access to camp for lack of funds.

We acknowledge that our costs have risen sharply. We have adjusted our prices to fit within the less expensive range of sleepaway camps in California. We recognize that camp is still expensive. We are passionate about providing the camp experience to all campers who
want it. Don’t let finances hold you back- we won’t!

A NOTE ABOUT OUR SLIDING SCALE:
◆ Comprehensive rate: $1,200 the top of our sliding scale covers all our costs.
◆ Standard rate: $900, we hope most people will pay at least this amount.
◆ Reduced rate: $600, supports most of our direct expenses.
BRING A FRIEND Grant- Campers that successfully refer another camper will result in both
rates being discounted by an additional $200 regardless of the rate chosen for each camper.
This grant is made possible by Pacific Yearly Meeting’s Youth Fund. Email
susanwilson@quakercenter.org with your camper and referred campers names. Limit 1 per
camper- Help us spread the word about our tiny camp!
For scholarship information, please call the office: 831.336.8333 and ask for Susan.
