Amtrak
Take Amtrak to the San Jose Diridon station

Take Greyhound to Santa Cruz, or possibly San Jose. http://www.greyhound.com 1-800-231-2222

In Santa Cruz, Greyhound stops next to the Metro bus center.
Take the 35 to Ben Lomond

(If you are coming from the north on a weekday, going down to Santa Cruz and then back up to Ben Lomond will add time to your trip. For this reason you may want to look into Amtrak or transfering to local buses in San Jose.)
Greyhound also stops in San Jose, however it is 0.8 miles from the San Jose Diridon station. To get a bus from Grayhound to Diridon you would need consult the VTA (the Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority). (408) 321-2300, also (800) 894-9908 http://www.vta.org
From the San Jose Diridon Station
Monday-Friday:
Take the 17 Express to the Scotts Valley Transit Center.
Take an outbound (not toward Santa Cruz) 35 bus to Ben Lomond. For more information about either bus contact Santa Cruz Metro, http://www.scmtd.com (831) 425-8600.
Saturday-Sunday
Take an Amtrack bus to Santa Cruz Metro Center.
Take a 35 bus to Ben Lomond.
At Ben Lomond
Get off the 35 at Hwy 9 and Main (across from Scarborough Lumber). There are pay phones outside of Henfling's Tavern and also in the Ben Lomond Market.
