From San Francisco or other locations on the peninsula, the Caltrain is a good option.

Monday-Friday:
Take the 17 Express to the Scotts Valley Transit Center.

Saturday-Sunday
Take an Amtrack bus to Santa Cruz Metro Center.
Take a 35 bus to Ben Lomond.

At Ben Lomond
Get off at Hwy 9 and Main (across from Scarborough Lumber). There are pay phones outside of Henfling's Tavern and also in the Ben Lomond Market.
